This course is designed for students who are preparing for the A Level Exam next summer (2021) and is delivered by Dermot, an experienced maths teacher with a successful track record spanning over 30 years. Many students and parents are feeling anxious about the amount of teaching time that students missed due to the lockdown since March. There is still uncertainty about how this will all be managed in September. This live online course will help to reduce some of this anxiety by providing 12 hours of instruction and practice spread over 4 days from 17th to 21st August. Students will cover many of the key topics that are taught in Year 12 and will be set assignments to complete after the course with written solutions provided a week later so they can check how they did. An online education platform will also be available for student on the course to join and ask questions, discuss the topics, assignments, challenges and so on. By the end, students should feel more confident about the Year 12 content and ready to step up to the Year 13 work in September.

The structure is 4 morning sessions from 9.45am to 1pm with a 15 minute comfort break in the middle. The live sessions will be provided via Zoom, so a good internet connection is essential for a high quality experience. Students will also need to create an Edmodo account and join the class with a code they will get from me. This is where they will find all the materials provided and where they can connect with other students and ask questions. Dermot will also monitor and join these discussions to clarify any common misconceptions.
